What do you want to do after graduation and why?  Surface Warfare, Marine Corps or restricted line

Why did you choose Navy?   Top tier football and an even better education 

What would you tell somebody that is considering coming to Navy to play football?  Be prepared to do something hard every day for the next four years

If you could play another position, what position would you play and why?  Linebacker! I love the energy that Coach Volker and the linebackers bring to the game.  

If you could choose any opponent for Navy to play that is currently not on the schedule, who would you choose and why? The Ohio State University. I  would love to play against the hometown team.

Favorite class at the Naval Academy and why?  English, it completely changed my confidence in the way I write.

Hardest class at the Naval Academy and why?  Probability & Statistics. It is more words and letters than math.

Favorite teacher at the Naval Academy and why? CAPT Meehan. She brought the same enthusiastic, contagious energy to class every day.

Favorite form of social media and why?  Twitter. It gives me all I need.

Favorite person to follow on social media and why?  Scott Strasemeier & Druski. They are two of the funniest people on social media

If you could have dinner with any 4 people at the Naval Academy, who would you choose and why?:  Ahmad Bradley Lirion Murtezi, Marcus Moore and Trey Cummings.

Favorite sport to follow at the Naval Academy outside of football and why?  Basketball. My roommate is on the basketball team and I am a huge supporter. 

If you didn’t play football at Navy, what sport would you play and why?  Basketball. I always played basketball when I was younger but my size decided what sport I would ultimately continue to play.

What is your dream vacation?  Hawaii 

How many teams should make the FBS Playoffs?  8

What is the best thing about being in the American Athletic Conference? We are considered the Power 6 for a reason and routinely beat “Power 5” schools on any given Saturday as well as produce the same amount of NFL players as some of the “Power 5” leagues.

One word to describe a Navy Football player:  Grit

Who will be the surprise player on offense in 2022 and why?  Maquel Haywood. He is always one of the best athletes on the field and this year he will be used even more than last year. 

Who will be the surprise player on defense in 2022 and why?  Jacob Busic. He is an amazing athlete who gets better each and every day. He will be hard to block this year. 

Who is the toughest player on the Navy football team and why? Tai Lavatai. Tai is not only responsible for the entire team as the QB but he plays through tough injuries and does a great job of leading the offense.

What player epitomizes Navy Football and why?  Jayden Umbarger. Jayden checks the box in every category as a Navy football player regarding school, football and overall military commitment.

Who will be the Most Valuable Player on offense in 2022 and why?  Tai Lavatai. Tai has gotten smarter and better as a football player since last season. It will show. 

Who will be the Most Valuable Player on defense in 2022 and why?  Will Harbour. Will is hungrier than ever after missing a lot of last year due to injury. He is a great leader and will lead our defense. 

What are you most looking forward to in 2022? Getting back to playing Navy Football.
