Carly’s life has turned upside down on GENERAL HOSPITAL and while she might be struggling, portrayer Laura Wright is having an absolute blast playing all the drama. Especially since not only did Carly lose her half of the Metro Court Hotel, but then Nina bought it and tried to give it to her, which was just rubbing salt in the wound!
“Of course it’s Nina!” Wright laughed in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. “How yummy is this for Nina? It’s fantastic soap.”
Naturally, Carly turned down Nina’s offer just as she has everyone else’s attempts to help her out of this situation. “In Carly’s mind, Nina is doing this so that she’ll look good and Carly is like, ‘I will never take anything from you. Ever! I know what you’re doing. Takes one to know one.’” the actress explained. “Carly would do the same thing! She’s like, ‘Nice try, sister!’”
Carly also turned down Sonny’s olive branch for the same reason. “Carly is stubborn,” Wright smiled. “And she is not going to be in debt to the [people] who destroyed her life.”
Of course, what kind of life that’s going to be now that she’s lost her business, remains to be seen. “She has a moment where she’s like, ‘I don’t know what my life looks like without the Metro Court,’” Wright said. “But she’s not down and out. Never bet on Carly to be down and out!”
So keep watching GH to see how Carly pulls herself up by her bootstraps and puts her life back together. “Carly is a fighter and I’m really interested to see where they go with this,” she declared. “Carly’s had the Metro Court for like, 15 years, so not having it — and losing it to the woman who also has her husband — it’s a lot! It gives me, as an actor, great stuff to play. You’re going to see a whole new Carly!”
